Our Story
Bizak & Co. began in 1996 as a small family-owned antique dealership. Three generations later the same family name is on the door of a jewelry office in downtown Miami — and the way we look at a piece has not changed.
It started with old things, not with jewelry
In 1996 the family opened a small antique dealership in Poland. Our father dealt in art, sculpture and jewelry — jewelry was one part of a wider trade in old objects, not the whole of it. That order turned out to matter more than anything else we learned later.
An antique dealer has to read an object before pricing it. What are the marks. Where has it been worn, and does the wear match the age. Has it been repaired, and how well. Is the stone original to the setting, or was it put there later. Nobody hands you a certificate for a two-hundred-year-old object; you learn to look, or you lose money.
The craft was passed down the way it usually is in this trade — at the bench, next to someone older, on real pieces that were already sold or already broken. Not from a textbook.
Three decades on, the family works in the United States, and Bizak & Co. sells estate jewelry and vintage watches from the historic Seybold Building in downtown Miami. The inventory changed. The habit of examining first did not.
Four things the antique trade taught us
They sound obvious. In practice they are the whole difference between a dealer you can trust and one you cannot.
Examine first, price second
Every piece is personally examined and authenticated by a trained gemologist before it is listed. Nothing goes online sight-unseen, and nothing is priced off a photograph a previous owner sent us. How we authenticate.
Say the flaw out loud
If a stone was never weighed loose, if a report states a client-declared weight, if a piece has no lab paperwork at all — we write that on the product page ourselves. You would find it anyway; better you hear it from us. Why most estate diamonds have no certificate.
Old is not the same as damaged
Patina, hand engraving, an old-cut stone, a hallmark worn soft — these are the evidence of an object's age, and polishing them away destroys value that never comes back. What estate jewelry actually is.
One piece, once
This is not a catalogue of repeatable stock. Each piece is photographed, described and sold a single time, then it is gone. That is why we would rather answer ten questions before a sale than take one piece back after it. See what is in the case now.

Where we actually work
Bizak & Co. works out of the Seybold Building, 36 NE 1st St, Miami, Florida — the building that has been the centre of the city's jewelry trade for a century. It is where the cutters, setters and dealers are, which is why a stone can be checked, matched or set without ever leaving the block.

What this means when you buy from us
It was examined before it was listed
A trained gemologist looked at the piece in person, confirmed the metal and the stones, and wrote the description from the object — not from the previous owner's story about it.
It ships insured, with paperwork
Fully insured, signature required, in a presentation box, with a certificate of authenticity and its gemological description. Where an independent lab report exists, its number is on the product page.
You have seven days to change your mind
Unworn and in its original packaging, returned within seven days of delivery, refunded to the card you paid with — not store credit. Read the returns policy.

Questions people ask
Is Bizak & Co. really a family business?
Yes. It began as a family antique dealership in 1996 and it is still run by the same family — father, son and grandson, all trained in the trade. There is no chain behind it and no investor group.
What does "since 1996" refer to — the shop or the family?
1996 is when the family business started, as an antique dealership dealing in art, sculpture and jewelry. The jewelry trade grew out of that, and the family has been part of Miami's jewelry trade in the Seybold Building since. The online store is the newest part of a much older business.
Who examines and describes the jewelry?
A trained gemologist in the family, in person, before anything is listed. Arkadius Bizak trained at HRD Antwerp (AWDC) and the ERIJ Foundation; Filip Bizak holds the Diamond Appraiser title awarded by the Polish Gemmological Society (PTGem, reg. no. 20/2020) and is authorized to appraise diamonds for individuals, banks and courts of law.
Do you sell new jewelry, or only estate pieces?
The collection is estate and pre-owned: antique, vintage and previously owned pieces, including designer-signed work and vintage watches. Each one is unique and sold once.
